Men don’t want to cut out voucher coupons. Sure, they want to get a good deal on their purchases just like women do but they are far less likely to take the time to hunt down and use physical vouchers. In fact, one study says that fewer than one out of every five grocery store shoppers who used a voucher in a one year period were men. The things that inhibit guys from using regular vouchers may not be as much of a problem with online discount codes.
Some of the reasons that men don’t bother cutting out vouchers and taking them to the store include:
- They don’t want to have to cut them out. It seems like a little thing to most women who can easily multi-task the process while talking on the phone or doing other activities but guys say that it’s too much of a hassle. A printable voucher, or better yet a promotional code that you just have to type in, is preferable.
- Men don’t remember to take vouchers to the store with them. Then they have to remember to use them once they get to the checkout counter. Women toss vouchers in their person or have some organized ability to remember to take the vouchers along. Most guys forget so why bother cutting them out in the first place? This isn’t a problem with discount codes which can be used as soon as they are located.
- Guys don’t want to have to think ahead when doing their shopping. Again, this isn’t an issue when shopping online with promotional codes. You can impulse buy and still get that deal.
- Men may be embarrassed about trying to save money. Even in modern times, guys are expected to be breadwinners and they may not want strangers to know that they need to be frugal. This isn’t a problem when you’re shopping anonymously online with discount codes.
Although most men still aren’t using in-store vouchers, those who have started to do so are interested in continuing. More than ninety percent of the men who began using them during the recession plan to keep up their use. These guys may also want to use promotional codes to get further savings.
