5 Frugal Home Cleaning Tips
Home cleaning can be an expensive undertaking if you always need to buy the expensive detergent, soaps and solutions. However, one of the best ways to eliminate odour and also clean the tables, chairs and even the floors is to use a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. This can either be applied on a wet cloth or one can mix up the soda bicarbonate with a litre of water. This solution can then be used to wipe the entire house. The smell is fresh, the odours will be gone and it is a lot cheaper.
If you want to clean your windows and glass, use vinegar. Mix some vinegar with water and wipe the glass with a cloth. In no time, you will have spotless windows and no smear marks.
If your clothes have stained with coffee or food, do not take them to the dry cleaner. You can do this at home. Take some bicarbonate and add it to the detergent when you wash your clothes. Do this for the whites. Detergents which contain sodium bicarbonate are probably the best if you have greasy stained clothes. In some cases, if the stain has been there for a long time, you may have to soak your clothes in sodium bicarbonate for 1-3 days.

As a commercial cleaning company I can tell you one of the best things to use for cleaning….
microfibre cloths!
Its true, thet’re quite cheap to buy and if you look after them they’ll survive 300+ washes. (NEVER use bleach on them!)
You can use a variety of cleaning solutions – but use any solution sparingly, dont get the cloth too wet (despite the packet instructions telling you to wet them from the outset!)
Its enviromentally friendly, cost effective and these cloths clean better than anything else – a true win-win situation.
I love this post. There are at least two of the things I will do this weekend, as sad as that sounds!!
There are so many money saving cleaning ideas out there but its good to have a few at a time to try!
