There are a few different options that people have when seeking to use the Internet to get money-saving coupons. The main option that most people choose to go with is to locate sites that offer discount codes and to enter those codes during online transactions to save money when shopping online. The other option is to print out coupons from the Internet and to use those coupons in stores around town. Although it’s good to save money in any way that you can, you’ll probably find that investing your time in using online discount codes is more likely to save you money than investing the same amount of time in printed coupons will.
There are three main reasons that promo codes are better than printed coupons:
1. Discount codes are typically easier to find and more efficient to use. You can easily locate these codes whenever you do any online shopping and you can enter the information directly into your transaction to save money immediately. In contrast, printed coupons are not as easy to find and then there is a time-delay between locating them, printing them and using them that often makes it so that you forget to even save money with them after all.
2. Many businesses aren’t accepting the coupons that you print off of the Internet. There are a lot of problems being reported right now with fraudulent coupons printed from the Internet so many businesses have decided to stop accepting them all together. This means that you took the time to find and print coupons that get denied at the time of your purchase. If for some reason a code isn’t valid online (which is rare in comparison with printed coupon fraud) you will know so immediately and you’ll be able to locate another coupon to replace it so that you’ll still get your savings. In contrast, people who print coupons out from the Internet can’t replace their coupon if it doesn’t work at the checkout. Additionally, these people may end up buying things they wouldn’t have otherwise bought since they’re standing in line with an item that they don’t have a coupon for and they don’t want to hold up the line by having the transaction voided.
3. People often find that there are better in-store alternatives to printed coupons. Coupons are great but they aren’t the only way to save money. People often find that they can save money in other ways without wasting the time it takes to find and print coupons. For example, grocery store shoppers can save as much or more by choosing store brands as they can by using coupons for name brand products.
In addition to these three core reasons that promo codes save you more money than printed coupons do, you have to remember that printing out coupons requires your printer’s ink and paper which takes a little bit away from the savings that you get when using these coupons. If you can shop online and use discount codes instead then you’re going to be better off.

Hi,One way that some consumers have found to save another 5-10% during their shopping experience is through the use of promo codes. These promo codes are offered by retailers often through mass mailings to their preferred customer lists. This method of communication often backfires for the retailer, as the customers will then share this code with others for use while shopping online. These online shoppings are saving a lot of money.

I agree that online discount codes are better. It’s more environmentally friendly and saves carrying lots of bits of paper around with you.
You’re also less likely to impulse buy when ordering stuff online – especially if you can see what discount you’re getting and how much you’ve saved!
