Lose weight and Save Money!

Posted by Captain Frugal under Frugal Blog & Money Saving Ideas, Money Saving Tips

diet and money

Millions of individuals are overweight and all of them want to know how to lose weight. The internet of course is selling everything under the sky as a cure for obesity. And every one of these diets. Machines, herbs, pills, etc cost money- lots of money and none of them work.

Everyone can lose weight - for free, if they only remain determined and committed. And there is no need to buy any expensive machines, or join gyms or have complicated surgery. The only sure way to lose weight is by daily exercises and watching what one eats. The media hype has everyone fooled that there is something out there for weight loss. There is nothing.

Try and eat less. This is difficult in the beginning. If you eat two eggs at breakfast, cut it down to one. If you drink 2 cans of coke, cutting it down to one. And keep on cutting. The less food you eat, the greater the chance that you will lose weight. However, cutting on food alone is not the answer. Exercise, walk, jog or swim. And this must be done on a regular basis. One has to be patient. The reason why people fail to lose weight is because they want immediate results. We live in a world where instant gratification is wanted.

It took you many months or years to put on weight and it will take you at least a year to get the weight off. So exercise in any form and cutting down on foods is the first step - and no more chocolates and candies. You will save money and lost weight!

My diet and exercise routine:

Exercise per week (All free):

  • 3 sessions per week of circuits - 20 x 3 sets press-up, 20 x 3 sets squats, 20 x 3 sets upright rows, 2- x 3 sets shoulder press, 50 secs x 3 plank, 20 x burpees
  • Walk the dogs for 1 hours x 7 days per week

My diet plan (no sweets, take-aways, so cheaper than normal diets):
