Money Saving Website of the Week

This week’s money saving website of the week is FreeShipping.org, which is a fairly new entry into the US free coupon sector. The site was launch in Dec 2007, by the husband-and-wife team of Luke and Maisie Knowles, and has quickly become one of the biggest coupon sites with over 800 stores including JCPenney, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Dell and Gap. The site is very easy to use and well organised. It is dead easy to find the coupons you want because they are segmented by store name, category, “soon to expire” and “most recent” coupons. Best of all they only list coupons which work, unlike many other coupon sites.

It is not just me that thinks it is a great site, Freeeshipping.org has been featured on some major TV channels (ABC, NBC ) and some of the world’s leading blogs (Mashable, Lifehacker), see their “newsroom” for a complete list of all the press coverage they have been given. I had a chat with Luke and he said that the most popular coupons at the moment are JCPenney free shipping, Bloomingdales free shipping, and the ever popular Amazon free shipping coupon. The credit crunch is really starting to bite in the US, illustrated by the recent £200 billion bail-out of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae by the US Federal government, so now is the time to start saving money wherever you can!
