New Frugality Book Inspires 2010 Savings of £6000+ ($10,000)
There is a new book out for people who are interested in saving money by living frugally. The book is called Suddenly Frugal: How to Live Happier and Healthier for Less. It was written by Leah Ingram, the author of the frugality blog called Suddenly Frugal. The book combines all of her many tips from the blog and ends up as a concise guide to saving a lot of money in a single year.
Can you really save upwards of £6000 ($10,000) in a single year? Yes, you can. However frugal people should know that a lot of the tips that will help you do this are designed for people who aren’t already living a frugal lifestyle. The biggest savings will be for people who have been wasteful to date and who implement many new frugal changes all at once. People who have already been living frugally may find that they aren’t able to cut back as much as the book recommends.
For example, most frugal people have already given up their vehicles or cut back severely on using them. One of the major tips from the book is about giving up your car. If you’ve already done that then you’re not going to be able to add that kind of savings to your 2010 total savings. Nevertheless, the book will remind you of all of the little things that you ought to be doing and it will help you to save at least some money in 2010.
At the very least, you should be able to save £750 ($1200) this year. See our monthly challenge to learn how easy that is!

Well, I just wonder how long would people hold onto their new frugal way of life? It’s easy to change your lifestyle for a short period of time but it actually only makes sense if its a long-term change…
It’s all well and good but I don’t think it actually works for most of us?
