I love tea, it must be said, and I get a bit bored with the grocery store varieties. A friend gave me a bunch of loose leaf teas by Adagio last year and I’ve been hooked ever since. Names like Sencha overture, Gyokuro and Ti kuan yin make the teas sound so exotic, and the tastes always match the promise of the names. I order each variety by in 113g bags, which the site helpfully points out is worth about 50 cups of tea. For gifts I’ve used their teapot sections, and I particularly like the Concert Teapot (with the candle for keeping the tea warm). This site offers every kind of tea you could possibly dream of, and they are delivered promptly and deliciously.

I was looking for a gift for one of my girlfriends from university who just moved into her first flat on her own. I’d purchased loose teas from Adagio in the past along with the Personalitea pot and have been quite happy with the flavours and the quality of the tea pot. It’s the perfect size for two cups in the morning and has held up quite well through nearly daily use. Plus at 10 pounds the pot is a steal. The teas I’ve purchased have been fantastic and you can taste the difference from a tea bag.

That being said I opted to buy my friend the same Personalitea pot along with a selection of herbal teas. I love how the chamomile flowers come looking just as they’ve been dried and picked off the plant; you can really tell that these are fresh, herbal teas and not processed. I also bought the blood orange and lemongrass teas and was tempted to buy some more because of all the lovely photos on the website.

Everything arrived in just two days. I’m always worried about shipping fragile items, but the teapot was in perfect condition. My friend LOVED the teas and she’s gone and purchased more from Adagio for herself now that she’s gone through them all.
