My sister and I want to head off on a break from the winter chill so we headed to the Alpharooms site and looked at several different holiday destinations. Ultimately we decided on Egypt, the Sharks Bay resort, and the price we got was definitely affordable for both of us. The photos on the Alpharooms site look great and I can't wait to sit back amongst the palm trees and the sun! This site makes it so easy to book rooms in major UK cities. I just booked a great hotel room in Liverpool, and the whole transaction took about 5 minutes. I travel a lot for work and for play, and I love finding reseources that make things easier for me. This site is just the ticket, and it’s now in my favourites list.

My old girlfriends decided to hold a reunion getaway and chose the Canaries. As none of us could afford a luxury holiday, I thought to look at Alpha Rooms first to see what they had on offer. I felt confident booking with Alpha Rooms since they advertised a low price guarantee; basically if you found a better deal on another site they would honour it. The only thing that bothered me was the cheapest option was listed as a “no frills flight” and didn’t list the carrier. I don’t feel comfortable booking with a company when I don’t even know the name, so we opted for the second cheapest flight so I recognised the name of the airline.

It was helpful that detailed reviews, photos and a map are listed with each hotel property so you can really get in depth information. I thought it was a nice touch that Alpha also links to the trip advisor rating/reviews right on their site so you can easily check out their reviews in a pop-up window.

Once in the Canaries we found the description on the Alpha website was accurate and the hotel was lovely, right by the sea and plenty of activities and places to eat nearby. I would book with them again for my next holiday.

Planning a holiday can be a very difficult task but this is what I set out to do as soon as summer came round. I was planning to take some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city and go somewhere that I could be alone with my thoughts. I went online and found “AlphaRooms”, a travel and accommodation site which allows tourists to go through a range of hotels in any specific area and book the one that they like best. The site allows customers to rate their stay at a hotel and this allows other customers to see the ratings that different hotels have received and base their decision on this. I like the concept but that doesn’t mean I’d agree with their ratings- after all, paradise to them might be less than exciting to me.

So after checking through a range of hotels I decided to choose “Don Gregoria” as my destination. The hotel is located in Playa Levante in Benidorm. I had no particular reason to visit the area, nothing I particularly wanted to see, but I’m not great when it comes to decision making and so I simply picked the first one that sounded appealing. The comments I read about the place didn’t seem too bad and I wasn’t looking for a stay at the Sheraton so I signed up and booked my flight the very same day.

From the moment I arrived I began to realize that I should have planned a little better. The place was comfortable enough; there was all of the amenities that you would normally expect to find in a hotel and the staff were more than friendly but I suddenly realized that it was quiet- too quiet- and this wasn’t going to turn into the semi-adventure that I had planned.

The first few days and nights I spent wondering from the beach to the hotel pool. After I realized that my skin had taken all of the sun that it would allow I decided to go in search of something else do to- and I didn’t find much.
