AOL Broadband works well for my parents, 28 Jun 2011Review by Inez R.My mum and dad are really just getting into using computers and since they hadn’t any internet access, my husband and I thought it would be a good time to get them started. I saw an offer on the AOL website for the first month of broadband free, and did a bit of research and comparison shopping on other providers. It was nice because AOL offered a chart on their website to compare AOL with BT and Virgin Media, although I didn’t rely on their information alone. Overall we thought AOL would be the best option for my parents with ease of use, price, etc.
After checking that AOL Broadband was available in their neighbourhood we went ahead and ordered the service. The package came along with a free wireless router, which was a nice feature and prevented the additional expense of buying one on our part. Luckily my husband is handy at DIY and was able to set everything up in just about an hour or so. My mum couldn’t believe that she could even use the laptop out in the garden, and she’s commented that the speed is quite fast. They haven’t experienced any troubles with the broadband out of service, so I’ve been pleased with AOL to date.
