What else can you say about Asda that hasn't been said?, 14 Mar 2012Review by Kathryn G.I dont' shop for groceries online, as I find that a bit silly, but I do love my local Asda and from time to time I shop online if I can't find something in the store or if I just don't have the time. A friend convinced me to try their George line of clothing and it's actually not bad for some basic cheap things. Just picked up some coloured skinny jeans for less than 15 quid so can't beat that! Shipping was quick enough and no quibbles on the service. Overall, like everyone knows Asda is fantastic for some cheap deals, and their website is much the same.

Shopping online with Asda makes my life easier!, 28 Jun 2011Review by Hannah BrightleyAsda is my favourite place to grocery shop but with being house bound due to a recent injury getting out to the store is difficult. Their website has been a life saver, as they offer delivery straight to my door step. Being able to select everything from meat to veg and dairy all online is so convenient. The first time I shopped I had to register for an account but it only took a few moments so the registration process wasn’t that much of a hassle. I thought it was really nice that you can add items to your cart and then schedule a delivery up to a few weeks in advance, that way you can plan your shopping out in advance. Once you’ve ordered a product it also saves the item in your favourites so you can quickly add it again to your basket next time.
To praise one thing about the Asda website I would have to choose the layout as it is quite easy to find everything right from the tabs along the top of the page and they also have special sections on the homepage such as summer essentials and an area with special offers. I also receive emails from Asda that list any new offers going on. Really great website for grocery shopping!

Asda saves me money every time, 26 Jun 2011Review by Fiona BridgestoneAsda is great for saving money, so I really love shopping online at Asda. The groceries are delivered directly to my home, and it just couldn’t be easier. Sometimes the special offers don’t seem that great, but then the prices are pretty low to begin with. If you click into each product, you see nutritional values, which I think is genius. I’ve been trying to lose a bit of weight this year, and these nutritional values are great for telling me the fat and caloric makeup of foods. You can also find cooking instructions online for the ready meals, as well as allergy advice, in case the foods you order have something that might set off an allergy. The other added bonus is being able to shop for non-food items under the same umbrella. I always find great offers on shampoos and other hair products. I also order vitamins, and the site has a great section entitled health & supplements, where you can find all the latest and greatest remedies. It seems Asda has thought of everything.

Great value TV with superb quality picture, 23 May 2011Review by Dennis ButlerFirstly let me say that I could not fault this TV in any way whatsoever and I would have loved to have given this review a five star rating. The only reason I didn’t was that I had to pay for delivery which I find an annoyance when other companies online provide free delivery. I was also a little annoyed that it didn’t come with any HDMI cables but after reading lots of other websites and details for TVs I realised that this is normal practice.
The TV itself is perfect for my son’s bedroom because of the size which is helped by the invisible speaker system. The picture quality is actually better than the full 1080p television that I watch in the sitting room which may be because I heard that most broadcasts in HD are only at a 720 resolution anyway. The install process was the easiest I have ever seen and was done within a few minutes with only a couple of buttons pressed.
I hadn’t thought of shopping for a TV through a supermarket website before but Asda.com had the best price I could find on this particular model even with the delivery charge on top. I wanted to choose the option of a named day for the delivery in the end opted for a standard option as I was reassured by the wife that she could handle the delivery alone. In all fairness the delivery man brought the box in to the passage and it was light enough to be handled easily by one adult (male or female).
If I had to use asda.com again then I would as I tend to shop on price but in all fairness I couldn’t fault the service either.

Other Info
Asda’s roots can be tracked back to 1920s but the actual name Asda wasn’t used until 1965. The name was created by taking the first two letters of Asquith and Dairies, the original company name. The first Asda supermarket was built at South Elmsall, which is near Ponterfract in Wales. Since then they have grow to over 350 supermarkets across the UK and over 140,000 staff. Over the last few years their annual profit has been about £600 million from a turnover of about 3,400 million. In 1999 Asda was brought by the massive America company Wal-Mart for £6.7bn. They are now the third largest supermarket chain after Tesco and Sainsburys.
Products and Services
Asda sell a huge range of products and services, it might be easier to tell you want they don’t they sell. They do sell groceries, books, games, DVDs, electricals, flowers, furniture, gifts, mobile phones, glasses, and financial services including car insurance, home insurance, travel insurance and pet insurance. There is now an Asda credit card, loans, saving products, breakdown cover, and gas and electricity services. Services they offer included: free delivery on most non-food products, and free returns within seven days of purchase.
Our Review
The ASDA store is much like the Wal-Mart stores that are all throughout the US, in that it offers almost everything a person could ever need under one roof. The prices are lower than the trendier, boutique-style shops and some people look down on these larger stores, but the people who shop there are happy to get money off their purchases in all sorts of ways. Sites like promotionalcodes.org.uk often have discount vouchers and coupons that can be used at stores like ASDA, and that helps people who are already working hard to save money save even more of it. When they come into the store, customers find a lot to choose from as well as people to help them find everything that they need. They can also shop online and have groceries delivered right to their door. If they need financial services, ASDA can handle that, as well. For their options and customer care, we give ASDA 5 out of 5.
