I took my family to Orlando last week to visit family and go to the theme parks, and was looking for a hotel that was close enough to the attractions but wouldn't put us out of house and home. I found the Candlewood Suites Orlando hotel and thought it would be fab since we were hiring a car anyway, and the fact it was just outside Orlando did not matter. Their website had some great photos and tours to go through and I liked that you could see how big the rooms were straight away. After looking at the floor plans we chose a one bedroom suite so the kids could have the pull-out bed and we took the bedroom. It was nice to have that extra privacy instead of all four of us in one small bedroom. I would definitely stay here again!

If you’re planning a trip to the US or Canada, this site is pretty good for finding reasonable room rates. I had to plan a two-week trip at the last minute, bringing my family and kids with me with work paying for the room. I found a really good hotel just outside Boston, with an outdoor pool, kid suites, full kitchen, etc. – basically everything a family would need for a rental that lasts more than a night or two. The site shows you where everything is on the map. My wife was unconvinced until I showed her the virtual tour feature, and then she headed upstairs to pack our bags.
