My mum used to buy me shoes from Clarks when I was a kid. Clarks as a brand is about as ingrained with my childhood as any brand can be. I remember my preschool trainers, my posh shoes for parties, my first pair of school shoes, Magic Keys, Bootleg and everything that followed. Though I have to say I took a little time off from Clarks as a teen, they've never been far from my mind and I think of them as the most reliable, sturdy shoe company there is on the British high street. Now I'm in my 20s I've been shopping with them again and while at first I thought all the shoes would be stuck in that sensible bracket, like shoes my grandma would wear, I've been really pleasantly surprised by their new styles. I've bought 3 pairs online with them in the past year and each time I've found the website easy to get around, it's been easy to find what I want and the ordering process is really clear, even though the fact that there isn't a place to put in a discount code right until payment was a bit worrying. Delivery is always free and very prompt. I've never been disappointed. The shoes last forever too, which kind of contradicts my one complaint that some times they're a little pricey and you can get similar styles elsewhere, but the quality never compares.

I love Clarks shoes, but I find that the pairs I fall in love with in the window are often not available in my size in store – owing to lack of stock.
