I didn't realise how many hours I'd spend completely engrossed in Find my Past when I signed up for the trial, and honestly if I did maybe I wouldn't have (ha ha) but honestly, it was certainly worth the time and money spent to date. I've found out things about my family I never imagined, like how my great grandfather was one of five kids and only two survived. The site takes some getting used to, but once you have the hang of it, its easy to use, and there's always help on the site if you need it. I would highly recommend looking into this if you've ever been curious about the past and where you come from.

A lot of my friends have used this website to trace their family trees so I thought I would give it a go and see if I could do the same. I found the website a very daunting affair from the very beginning because there is so much to look at on it the moment you bring it up on the computer screen but after a while I did get the hang of it, although it was very complicated for a simple person like me to start off with.

I had to dig around to find all the information that was needed to start the search off, so it seemed to take me ages to get all the right information before I could even begin tracing my family tree, which I guess was to be expected. I thought it was a bit expensive too, but then I checked out a few other sites that offer the same thing and I suppose this is the price you have to pay to find out about your family history although I did think the time limit of 90 days was too short a time to give people, especially as it took me so long to dig out all the info I needed to start my own search.

By the end though I was completely satisfied with the information about my family history which I traced way back to my great, great, great grandfather who was Irish. I suppose tracing back that many generations is pretty good considering. As you only do this once for yourself the service is not that expensive, but I would advise others to be more prepared for all the info needed before starting such a search because you need to have it all ready otherwise you have to stop and start again otherwise.
