With Christmas 2017 just over and the decorations coming down, now is a good time to start thinking ahead to the next festive break.

Being prepared really is the key to a stress-free Christmas.

Right about now almost every store will have some kind of discount being offered. Boots have their 50% off on their Christmas items but pretty soon that will increase to 75%. This sale can be a bit tense as if you wait too long you may miss an item you have been after but if you don’t wait long enough you could end up paying more than you need to.

Superdrug also have some good items on offers I’ve seen lots of things reduced to below half price, I’ve also spotted items that are reduced to clear at really cheap prices so it may be that they are using this time to clear out old stock. If that’s the case then it’s a great time to stock up.

As with a lot of reduced to clear items this may be store specific but if you’re passing it may be worth a look in, you never know what you may find.

Argos also have a big clearance sale with some items at rock bottom prices. It is worth checking what the items have originally been priced at to make sure you really are getting a good deal. Keep an eye out for this and don’t rush to quickly to grab that bargain as it may not be what it seems.

That note leads me onto the good old rule of don’t buy it if you don’t need it. Buying because it’s cheap could end up costing you if you don’t actually need it. Make a list of the things you need and try not to stray from it too far.

Clearance and sale times are also great times to pick up items that you can donate. If it’s something you do then just after Christmas is a great time to get items for food banks, toys for kids and items for the homeless.
