The study shows that UK shoppers redeem 1500 money-off vouchers every single minute which adds up to approximately 2 million money-off vouchers redeemed every day in the UK. The average shopper saves approximately £56 per month using these discount codes. That’s a total savings of over £2.5 billion per year by UK shoppers. That’s a stunning amount of savings from savvy shoppers.
Perhaps all of the recent media attention about voucher codes has gotten the attention of shoppers who weren’t previously aware of the massive savings that are possibly when shopping online with discount codes. In just the past 6 months alone the use of these discount codes has risen over 5%. This indicates an upward trend in the number of people who are choosing to be smart shoppers by using the discounts that are available to them when shopping online. The increase could also be explained by the fact that retailers are becoming increasingly aware that shoppers expect these codes and are making more codes available to consumers than ever before.
Consumers definitely plan on taking advantage of these voucher codes in the upcoming months. Nearly half of the people surveyed said that they plan on using these types of savings when buying this years Christmas gifts.
