Absolutely fantastic for kids and quirky gifts, 08 Feb 2012Review by HarryJ85Hawkin's Bazaar has become a huge favourite of mine over the years. Having been in frequently to the shop and fallen in love with all the weird and wonderful things they stock, I've recently become a regular user of the website too, as a source for both my young nephews and nieces, and for gifts for those friends who have everything. I always find such a wacky selection of really fun stuff on the Hawkin's Bazaar website and I'm always shocked at the low prices. Recently I bought a toy for my little niece and she absolutely loved it and has played with it constantly for months according to her mum, and it only cost me £8! I find the ordering process to be very quick and easy and the parcels always get delivered quickly and in great condition. It's the perfect place to go when you have no idea what to buy a friend who seemingly has everything he or she wants, as there's always a quirky little something to put a smile on a face. The one complaint I have is that the shipping costs are quite high (£3.50) and since I order pretty regularly I get a bit annoyed thinking about how much shipping I must have racked up over the years. Still, I've got my money's worth in cool stuff I guess!

You'll definitely get a laugh out of Hawkin's Bazaar, 03 Aug 2011Review by GemmaI love to play jokes on my brothers and give them cheeky, embarrassing gifts, so Hawkin's Bazaar is a fab place to look for these types of things. Even if you're not after more "adult" items, the site has loads of other party accessories and decorations, toys and whatnot. I'm sure one day when I have a family I'll move on to buying party bag fillers and bubble toys, but for now I'll stick to the arse/face towel and after curry wipes...to my brothers' dismay.

These gift ideas are lighting up a storm, 02 Aug 2011Review by RujuThis site is great for finding inspired gifts. My husband loves visiting the old battlefields in France, and we’re often camping on the continent as a result. During my most recent visit to Hawkins Bazaar, I noticed something called a Storm Kettle. I read about its history and use during the war for making tea in the most trying of situations. So I thought it would be a great gift idea for my husband for his birthday. I was right – he loves it and demonstrates it by lighting it in the garden nearly every time we have guests. But that’s beside the point. This site is easy to maneuver in and fun to find gifts from. I have yet to have a satisfied receiver of gifts from here, so I’ll be back.

Great site for truly unique gifts and jokes, 11 Jul 2011Review by Marcia TaylorI like giving gifts that will be remembered, and I’ve found that Hawkin’s Bazaar is really good for ensuring a few “oooooohs” and “aaaahhhhhs”. For all my new mummy friends, I always order a few really sweet sets of baby clothes from other sites, but then I come here and get the “Safe Baby Handling Instructions” book, which is a comically look at how to and how not to care for your baby. Throw out bath water, not baby, for example. This is also the place to come for Whoopi cushions and other less savoury practical joke items. But they’re always good for a laugh. The prices here are great, and the delivery is quick and easy. One thing’s for sure: Your purchases are bound to garner laughter.

Here's your stop for really unusual gifts, 01 Jul 2011Review by Ethan LeatherleyI love throwing parties, whether it’s my kids’ birthday dos or bigger, adult affairs. Either way, I like to have nice decorations and accessories for the events. This site has all that kind of stuff in abundance. It offers goofy things like “drinking glasses”, which I really don’t understand, and more elegant items such as sky lanterns. It also offers other kid-friendly treats, like face painting kits, crafts and toys. But the best bit is finding the “Unusual gifts” for whomever is celebrating a birthday. For example, I got my husband the little remote-control UFO, and it was his favourite gift. It didn’t cost much, but it didn’t matter – boys like their toys, the more unusual the better. I’ll definitely be back for more interesting gifts and party supplies in future.
