Coach travel is efficient and saved lots of my student budget!, 25 Oct 2011Review by FionaHBeing a student, I split my time between two cities. I need to get back to my hometown often because I like to see my friends and family as much as I can.
More often than not, a National Express coach is a much cheaper option than train or car travel. Funfares, which are non-transferable and non-refundable are a great, cheap option. The booking system on the website is straight forward and you can have a seat booked on a coach within five minutes of logging on. The quickest journey time is always marked when you are choosing which coach to book, so you know which is most efficient time-wise. When you book a seat you are emailed an e-ticket. You need to print this and take it with you to show the driver before you board the coach. If you don't have a printer you can receive a text message ticket, which can be shown to the driver in the same way. I often chosen to do this because although there is a 50p charge added to your booking, I think it’s worth it because my phone is something I always have on me so I don’t need to remember where I put my ticket!
I wouldn’t say that coach travel is my first choice for intercity travel in the UK, but if the trains are too pricey, I can always rely on National Express for a simple, cheap and comfortable journey. -
Why not see everything by coach?, 28 Jul 2011Review by SarahThis coach booking service is fab. I’m single and love to travel, but I don’t necessarily like being all by myself. And I hate flying. So taking coaches and/or coach tours into Europe is ideal for me. This summer I really wanted to visit Prague, so I got online and starting searching. The trains were really pricey and took nearly as long as the bus, so I opted for this coach service and I’m so glad I did. The transport was dirt cheap, and the trip was fantastic. I met people, made friends and got to see the European countryside in the process.

A bit confusing to use the site, 05 Jul 2011Review by Aaron JonesUsed the National Express website to look up the time tables for trains from London to Bath on a recent holiday. It was a bit confusing to use the website for a first timer, but eventually I found what I needed and all of the schedules were available. I didn't see the use in booking online, as I could just book the tickets at the train station in London.

I have heard about good deals on national express and decided to try and see if i could get one but unfortunately it won’t be on when i need to travel about a week from today(31/03/09) and using the train is no better as there’s only one funfare trip from Coventry to London,I intend to travel from Coventry to Milton Keynes.I feel a little bit disappointed.
