About Asda
Asda’s roots can be tracked back to 1920s but the actual name Asda wasn’t used until 1965. The name was created by taking the first two letters of Asquith and Dairies, the original company name. The first Asda supermarket was built at South Elmsall, which is near Ponterfract in Wales. Since then they have grow to over 350 supermarkets across the UK and over 140,000 staff. Over the last few years their annual profit has been about £600 million from a turnover of about 3,400 million. In 1999 Asda was brought by the massive America company Wal-Mart for £6.7bn. They are now the third largest supermarket chain after Tesco and Sainsburys.

Our Review
The ASDA store is much like the Wal-Mart stores that are all throughout the US, in that it offers almost everything a person could ever need under one roof. The prices are lower than the trendier, boutique-style shops and some people look down on these larger stores, but the people who shop there are happy to get money off their purchases in all sorts of ways. Sites like promotionalcodes.org.uk often have discount vouchers and coupons that can be used at stores like ASDA, and that helps people who are already working hard to save money save even more of it. When they come into the store, customers find a lot to choose from as well as people to help them find everything that they need. They can also shop online and have groceries delivered right to their door. If they need financial services, ASDA can handle that, as well. For their options and customer care, we give ASDA 5 out of 5.
