About Vodafone
Vodafone has grown into one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world with a market capitalisation approaching billion and direct or indirect interest in 67 telecom networks around the world. The company boasts a client base of some 260 million customer and recently announced profits of over billion for the year ended 31 March 2008. While Vodafone is one of the more recognisable brand names around the world it actually started life as Racal Strategic Radio back in 1982 when part of the Racal Electronics group. After being awarded two mobile telecom licences back in 1982 the group has not looked back and following a number of reorganisations, name changes and the acquisition of German telecom giant Mannesmann in February 2000, the pieces of the jigsaw all fell into place.
Products And Services
In many ways it would be quicker to list the telecom related industries in which Vodafone does not have a presence, such is their growing exposure to the worldwide market. The company is able to offer mobile phone customers a network which literally spans the globe with operations in the Far East, Central Europe, UK, America and more recently moves in to India are materialising. The group literally has it all with traditional mobile phone services, SMS, MMS, voicemail, internet, broadband, contract phones and pay as you go. Vodafone is also heavily involved in the music scene, appreciating at an early stage that this was an area where they would find many of their future customers. In an interesting development Vodafone has agreed a joint venture with Lenovo computers which will see the Vodafone broadband service inbuilt and available from purchase in a range of their laptops. The group really has been at the cutting edge of mobile phone technology for some time and continues to stay one step ahead of the crowd. They often advertise in the newspaper, using the web address www.vodafone.co.uk/press so keep you eyes open for the latest offers. Recently they won the "Innovative Service of the Year Award" and "Best Wireless ISP". They claim to have the "fastest mobile broadband for you business", find out more at www.vodafone.co.uk/usbmodemstick.
Our Review
The worldwide mobile telecommunications market is a minefield with many groups having bit the dust along the away after promising starts. Vodafone has just grown and grown and offers a full service which few in the world can match. The UK market is very competitive and while some companies will specialise in certain areas of the industry, Vodafone is literally your one stop UK telecom shop. Take advantage of the latest technology at the best prices using the latest voucher code, discount code and promotion code - many items are available with free delivery. Money off vouchers are great, but only if the company in question has the products and the services to make them worthwhile Vodafone scores well on both fronts. The company has an experience of the markets which now stretches back over 25 years and where most companies follow, Vodafone is not afraid to take the lead internet access and broadband services are a prime example. They coverage is the best of the networks in the UK, so we give them 4 out 5.
