Waitrose Entertaining Customer Reviews
There is no easier way to throw a children’s birthday party than with Waitrose Entertainment. My kids go nuts for their cakes, and I love the simplicity of it all. I know it’s a bit expensive compared to homemade foods, but I save up a little bit at a time to be able to host these parties, and I think it’s worth it. I know the guests will like the finger foods, and I know the cakes will look fantastic for photos. I find everything I need under the entertainment section. The personlised cakes are the real draw, though. Last year my daughter insisted on a Barbie Doll cake. Luckily Waitrose has one. Phew!
I love throwing parties, and I love baking, but when it comes to children’s party cakes, I seem to have a deficiency. My son really wanted a pirate cake for his birthday party, so I decided to try and make one two weeks before the big day as a test. I tried a boat in the first instance, and then fell apart despite best efforts, and my treasure chest on the second try looked more like a coffin. So I reverted to type and went back to Waitrose and ordered a beautiful pirate ship cake. My son loved it, and I had the satisfaction of having tried. Next year I may just skip that first step.
I promised my new boyfriend I'd make him a home-cooked meal for our next date, but the problem is I'm the worst chef on earth. I knew I wouldn't be able to pass off my own cooking for the evening, so I ordered an Indian meal from Waitrose and had it delivered. They had loads of meals to choose from and it was fast and easy to order. Some chicken tikka masala, rice and Indian breads made a great meal, and there was plenty extra to have for lunch the next day. My boyfriend didn't catch on to my secret, either (of course I had to put it in my own bowls etc so he couldn't tell it was store-bought). I only wish they could deliver on shorter notice, as you have to let them know at least 5 days in advance.
We've used Waitrose Entertaining a few times for parties, and always been pleased with the result. When it came time for making Valentine's Day plans, I promised my wife a quiet night in for Valentine's Day, and obviously went straight to the Waitrose site to get everything sorted (I'm sure she wouldn't expect me to cook, right??) They had a whole Valentine's section on the site, and I spotted the £20 dinner for two offer. Took me perhaps five minutes to choose everything, check out and pay. It even comes with wine and dessert so my wife is going to be impressed. Looking forward to the delivery tomorrow and hope the meal lives up to the hype.
