Fall scarf blogHappy first day of autumn, everyone! Now that we can all officially get into the autumn mindset, it’s time to think about updating your autumn/winter accessories. This week we’ll tackle scarves. Now that summer is over, the super bright and tropical print sheer scarves can get tucked into a drawer. Look to deeper colours, whimsical prints and heavier fabrics for the cooler days ahead.

Whilst scarves are such a great staple to update any outfit, the massive variety of patterns and styles can be completely overwhelming.Heavy or lightweight? Patterned or solid? Funky or classic? Snood or traditional style? Dark or pastel?

If your head is spinning just thinking about it, just take a look at our top 10 scarf picks for AW 2014-2015 – and even better, they’re all under 25 quid!

They don’t call it Not on the High Street for nothing – you can find some really gorgeous items, including scarves, that you won’t see everyone else wearing this season. I’m obsessed with fun animal-themed scarves, like Molly & Pearl’s Fox Print Scarf (£14.99). This one would look great with a basic white shirt and jeans. Another fab option: the Faded Bird Print Scarf by The Forest & Co (£12). It’s a nice big size, plus the muted colours (available in four colourways) make it just right for autumn.

Over at Accessorize, the Bloomingdale Jacquard Blanket Scarf (£25) has the perfect autumn colours in a wintery floral print of red, blue and gold, plus the more substantial fabric gives it a cosier touch. For a lighter feel, this gorgeous Mini Silk Ombre Stole (£15) is a great choice with a basic top in shades of navy and light grey. Don’t forget to take advantage of your 10 percent discount if you’re a student!

For those of you who love a snood, you can grab a deal at Debenhams in the sale right now. For a softer casual look, this pink jersey style is on sale for just £11.20 and would match really well with a soft grey top or dress. For a warmer fabric and a bit of shimmer, this blue metallic snood from J by Jasper Conran is an amazing 70 percent off at only £13.50.

I’m loving the autumnal colours in this Trailing Floral Jacquard Scarf (£14) from Dorothy Perkins. Even though they’re florals, it gives off a feel of falling leaves, doesn’t it? For a super cosy scarf, check out another DP find with the Grey Lace Blanket Scarf (£14) in a pretty white lacey print. If you’re doing a bit of additional shopping, make sure to use our code for free express delivery on orders over £30!

A romantic and whimsical option in a smaller size is the Heart Cluster Square (£15 at Oasis) in navy and bright red.  Tie this one in a small knot around your neck or around your head for another look! Green is one of my favourites, so I’ll definitely be snatching up this Primrose Print Scarf (£15 at Oasis) with a lovely deep floral pattern.
