FESTIVE STYLE (2)

Whilst the temperatures might not be soaring at home, summer still calls for a change-up in your beauty routine (even if you’re not headed on holiday anytime soon). The heavy, thick moisturisers we rely on in winter aren’t quite needed in the summer months, and your hair products and even the colours you use for your makeup could use some updating for the more carefree days ahead.

The Summer Shop at Lookfantastic is a great place to start, with loads of products from shampoo with SPF to fake tan with free worldwide delivery, plus you’ll save 15% on your order with our code through 12 July (exclusions apply). Check out some of the best beauty deals that won’t break your budget:

Makeup

A waterproof mascara is a definite beach/pool must-have and I’ve had good luck with the Maybelline Lash Sensational range. Their waterproof formula mascara is just £7.99, so you can’t beat it, even if you only use it a few times this season. Add a waterproof eyeliner like this Badgal liner from Benefit for £15.50. As for lips, make sure you add a fun, bright lipstick or gloss with some SPF like this NARS Cosmetics Pure Sheer SPF Treatment (£18.50) or Lanolips Tinted Balm with SPF 30 (£8.16).

Don’t forget some bronzing powder! Last month I picked up this Rimmel Natural Bronzer (£5.99) when it was on offer and I’m loving the subtle sunkissed look (it doesn’t look too obvious, even on someone quite pale like me). Check out the Rimmel 3 for 2 offer as well!

Tanning

If the only sun you’ll be getting this year is from a bottle, St. Tropez make loads of amazing bronzers and self tanners to fake the real thing – plus you can take advantage of a 3 for 2 offer. Whether you’re looking for a gradual tan plus firming lotion (£20), their Multi-Action Face Lotion (£18.70) or an easy-apply bronzing spray (£21), you’ll get the cheapest item free when you buy three from the range. Looking for something with zero commitment? The Rimmel Sunshimmer Instant Tan is only £6.99 and washes off with soap and water.

Haircare

Sun and salt water can be quite drying and damaging for your hair, so treat your strands with some extra TLC this summer. With a 3 for 2 offer on Alterna products, you can grab a variety of hair-savers, like this Bamboo Beach Summer Sun Recovery Spray (£21) to moisturise after a long day at the beach, or their 5-in-1 Bamboo Beach Summer BB Cream to keep your hair shiny and controlled whilst also fighting frizz (£21). With both of these, it’s your choice for a free Alterna item – why not grab the Bamboo Beach Summer Ocean Waves Spray (£21) for those days when you want a cool, beachy wave to your hair? If you’ve got colour-treated hair, you’ll also want to replace your regular shampoo and conditioner with one containing sunscreen and environmental protectants, like this Paul Mitchell Colour Protect duo (£23.25).

Suncare

Even when the sky’s looking grey, a decent SPF is always a must, especially if you’re headed to a climate where the sun’s much stronger than in the UK (try being out in the Florida sun for more than ten minutes without frying!). I love La Roche-Posay products, and their SPF 50+ Ultra Light Fluid (on sale now for £11) is a good choice to keep your skin safe, plus the super light, nongreasy formula won’t turn your face ghastly white. Their SPF 50+ BB cream (also on sale for £11) is another great option if you prefer a bit of tint on your face and don’t want to deal with using more than one product.
