money saving 5 C

This week has been filled with deals and bargains and even a supermarket price glitch.

The supermarket price glitch was discovered in Tesco and it involved a ‘pizza and pud’ meal deal, priced at £5. This included a Pizza Express pizza and a Gu pudding. For both, this normally costs £9.15 but the deal took it down to £5. The glitch then came in as Tesco offers a brand guarantee, which is taken off your total when items can be bought cheaper at other supermarkets. In Morrison’s, the two items are cheaper, meaning you get another £4.15 taken off. For the brand guarantee to work though, you need at least eight comparable items in your basket. This is easy – simply add some smaller items like sweets or snacks.

You can do the pizza deal a couple of times in one transaction, so if you buy the deal five times alongside your small filler items, you are getting a food shop potentially worth over £50 for less than £10.

Now, as with all glitches, they don’t stick around for long and this one didn’t, but plenty of people managed to get their hands on the deal before it stopped. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones as I don’t have a Tesco near me but well done to all those that got hold of the great glitch.

Boots are currently running a great offer on Soap and Glory products – it’s an online deal where when you spend £18 or over a Perfect Ten make-up palette automatically gets added to your basket. What makes this even better is that the products are also on a buy one get one half price offer, which works alongside the free palette. So, if you are a fan of Soap and Glory, now’s the time to stock up.

My free tickets for Warwick Castle arrived this morning – I got these through The Sun super days offer. I do these offers regularly as they are great at reducing the costs of days out for my family. The next one I’m sending off for is two free tickets to a National Sea Life Centre.

I’ve noticed a lot of people finding bargains and deals in Wilko’s – it seems they are having a bit of a clear out and there appears to be some great savings to be had, so if you have a Wilko’s nearby it might be worth checking it out.
