END OF WINTERWith spring just weeks away, you might need a bit of incentive to get through the rest of winter, and what better pick-me-up than a cheeky short break? Even if it’s just a short drive away, staying in a hotel and doing something in a different environment can do wonders for your mood – plus you can leave the cooking and laundry behind for a few days!

You don’t need to spend a tonne of money to get away and enjoy yourself, and whether you’re planning a romantic trip with your partner, a good time with friends, or a family-friendly weekend, we’ve got loads of deals for you to check out!

You’ll save up to 40 percent on winter breaks at Macdonald Hotels, and with more than 40 luxury hotels across the UK, you’ll be sure to find one that suits! I stayed at the Macdonald Bear Hotel in Woodstock last summer and absolutely loved the charm of this 13th century former coaching inn. It’s an amazing setting for a romantic weekend, but if you’re traveling with little ones, we were able to book a room with a sofa bed, and there was plenty of room for all of us. With the hotel being steps away from Blenheim Palace (a great place to let kids run off some energy as the grounds are huge), and a close drive to all of the Cotswolds villages, it was the perfect location for my family to explore the area. In fact, Macdonald are offering a Blenheim Palace break with accommodation at either the Macdonald Bear or Macdonald Randolph in Oxford, full English breakfast, tickets to the palace, from £76.50 per person per night.

LEGOLAND Windsor opens for the season 10 March and they’ve got some great 2017 offers on tap. Book before 28th February from just £148 per family, including a kids go free offer. Holidays include an overnight stay, breakfast, and your second day in the resort free! From 10-31 March they’re celebrating The Lego Batman Movie Days, so if your kids are into superheroes this is the time to go!

If you’re a Harry Potter fan like me, head to London and create your own free tour of filming locations. I’ve done a Harry Potter walking tour, but honestly you can save the money by looking online and sorting out where to go yourself. Travelodge have a handy guide on their website with many of the spots around London used in the Harry Potter films that’s a good start. Whilst the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Watford is an absolute must-do in my book, if you’re short on cash you can still see plenty of cool locations in London proper, like King’s Cross Station. And with central London rooms from £42, Travelodge make it easy to afford that late winter break to the capital.

Looking for a girls getaway in a stylish city hotel? Apex Hotels are perfect for your winter weekend break. With their Eat, Sleep, Shop, Repeat offer you can stay in any Apex London hotel, Apex Waterloo Place Hotel Edinburgh, Apex Grassmarket Hotel Edinburgh, Apex City of Glasgow Hotel or Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, and take advantage of 10% off your stay and get a bottle of Prosecco to drink in the bar, plus a complimentary room upgrade on check-in (subject to availability).
