With a young, fresh and unique approach, Base London has turned the men's shoe market upside-down since it first appeared in 1995. Their ethos, to … 'live life,' gives a definite clue as to how function must meet fashion in their designs, and their peppy description of how they first came to be is redolent of the best British start-ups. But putting the blurb aside for a second, it's clear to see that Base London's shoes really do deliver. Sitting in the sweet spot between cutting-edge and casual, their designs capture an attitude that appeals -- rebellion, style and practical design all in one pair. Leather is key, with brogues and boots coming in classic shapes with subtle vintage details and burnished finishes. Their little brother brand, Fish n Chips, is cheekier still, with colourful canvas interplaying with pumped-up plimsolls, perfect for the festival season. Snakeskin, stripes and twill canvas make for perfect summer companions while trainers are moulded around key retro details. Free UK standard delivery is available for a limited time, whilst returns can be arranged over 28 days, and prices are reasonable, giving an inspired hit of fashion to the feet for less. read more

Base London is a good source for shoes and I’ve bought formal shoes for the office as well as everyday casual shoes and sandals for holiday. No complaints here about the shoes, the fit is good and I haven’t any problems with them to date as for durability.
I like that they inject a bit of humour into their site and it’s obvious that they have a top marketing team because everything is really well-written and presented (as someone who works in marketing these are the things I notice!). I commend them for making the website into more of a lifestyle brand as opposed to simply a place to buy shoes, as they have a “gentleman’s club” with comedy videos, a style guide, competitions and even a list of shoes for specific situations (grabbing a pint, meeting the parents and so forth). I hate shopping so going to the Base London website is really the ideal situation for me as I can click a few buttons and have just what I need delivered to my home, and also have a bit of fun while I’m on the site. Speaking of delivery I’d have to say Base London has one of the fasted shipping times and I’ve never waited more than two days to receive my shoes.
My husband is a big fan of these shoes, and I love the prices I find in the specials online. I needed to get him a few new formal pairs of black shoes for work and he suggested I look here. I did and was amazed by the selection. I love the feature of being able to spin the shoe in the window so as to see all sides of it. The descriptions are so complete, leaving no room for misunderstanding about the product.
Just bought some new formal shoes for work and a pair of sandals to wear on holiday and pleased with both pairs. I really liked shopping on their site, it's nice they have some cheeky things like "where the f&*! are my shoes" instead of a boring headline like "tracking your order." It's also a nice feature to be able to see different views of the shoe so you know exactly what you're getting. Everything is really well fitting and sturdy, you can tell they aren't going to fall apart after a few months of wear.
