Stephen Marks launched French Connection in 1972. His goal was to offer fashionable clothing that would appeal to a wide range of people. The brand's infamous initials, FCUK, would sound (and look to the older crowd who happened to catch a glimpse of a branded sweatshirt out of a corner of their eye) very similar to a word forbidden to leave the mouths of children and teenagers. This was undoubtedly a coincidence and probably had nothing whatsoever to do with the brand's success. Their fashion-forward offerings for men and women include jumpsuits, trousers, tops, leggings, suits, sweatshirts, jeans and jackets. They also have a line of accessories including shoes, jewellery and handbags. And for those ready to say FCUK decorating, the company has an entire homeware line. This line manages to pair modern with rustic in a way that should be utterly horrendous and yet is both chic and desirable. As an added benefit (as if shocking all people over the age of 40 wasn't good enough) all orders over £50 (excluding homeware items) ship free. read more

French Connection Customer Reviews

It's easy to get in touch with my French roots

Half my family is French, so I really like being able to get fashions from the continent whilst living here in England. I’ve found that French Connection offers really cool clothes, only there isn’t one close to my house. So I’ve turned to the website and have been hooked ever since. I tend to only shop here now. It’s really easy to find what I want, and shipping is only £4, no matter how much I order.

Online shop offers so many great ideas

I like shopping in the stores as well, but this site is great because it can tell me the latest trends and the best sellers. It’s like a barometer on what’s hot this season. I just ordered a crinkle Clara dress from the best sellers section, and I got it at less than half the original price. I also like ordering online because they have better stock online than in any one store. I wanted one of the really cool pencil skirts this season, but they were out of it at my local store. So I hopped online and got it without any problem.

Took advantage of the after Christmas sale

Since I had some money to burn after the holidays (thanks Gran!) I thought I'd have a look at the French Connection sale. Wound up buying some lovely jumpers and a new lace dress, and very happy with what I paid. Also was pleased to see the preview for spring/summer 12 and looks like they have some nice things lined up - although I can't even think about wearing a sundress in this chilly weather!

I love the inexpensive shipping, although most sites usually offer it free if you spend a certain amount, and I certainly spend enough here! Whilst their clothes aren't cheap, at least the quality is high, and they last through repeated washings and wears.

Spring sale was a nice 20% off for me

I love shopping FCUK but sometimes they can be pricey. I was thrilled to look on their site and see a sale, and I used the 20% off code. I'd been looking at the Empress orchid dress for ages, and now that I could use the discount, I was able to afford it. I can't wait to wear the dress and unfortunately I didn't browse any of the other items on sale since I really could not spend more! Overall brilliant shopping experience and I'll continue to shop with FCUK when my purse allows.
