Amazon Customer Reviews

Tesco - a great place to start

This is where I start all of my shopping. It's a great springboard for knowing how much is too much for a product. Clothing is a bit harder to find on Amazon, but it still offers a great price indicator for various
fashions. And I really love the ability to send different items from one order to various addresses. I do this every Christmas, and my family always gets their pressies on time and without hassle. It's brilliant. Also, I've found that Amazon's prices are often better than individual dealers, so that's great when you're trying to save a few bob. Most recently, I order two pairs of shoes through Amazon, and they were far better priced on Amazon than they were through their manufacturer. I don't understand how or why that is, but I'm not going to argue with it.

Everything you could want in one website

Most people I know think of Amazon for books but really they sell loads more. I’ve bought everything from jewellery for my wife to house gadgets from Amazon, and many times when I’m trying to find a hard to track down item Amazon carries it when other websites don’t. The super saver delivery is also brilliant. Who wants to pay 7 or 8 pounds for delivery when it could be free? The few times I’ve needed to make a return the process was straightforward and I received a credit to my account in a few day’s time.

I’ve found their prices on books to be amongst the lowest out there, and recently I went ahead and ordered a Kindle. I was hesitant to make the change from paper books but a few colleagues have e-readers and told me I had to give it a go. At first it took some adjustment, but now I love it! I’m no longer crowding the house with books I’ll likely never read again and the e-book prices are lower than an expensive hardcover. I’ve purchased two or three e-books from Amazon at really low prices, and I like how unknown authors can upload their works as e-books and get some attention via the site.

I will continue to be an Amazon shopper as long as they’re in business!

Pretty much anything you could imagine is sold here

I've been buying books from Amazon for years but they offer so much more and I think thats really underutilised sometimes. Loads of times I've been searching for something quite random, like a new charger for my camera after I lost it on holiday, and they have it for much less at Amazon than other retailers. I like that the shipping is often free depending on your spend, and I haven't any problems yet. They even have things for my pets, which is nice to find at a discount.

Pre ordered some books for upcoming holiday

I'm headed to Majorca in a month's time so I thought I'd order some books for the holiday and Amazon always has cheap ones - plus you can't fault their service. Shipping is always really quick and usually I can get it free for spending a certain amount. After browsing through their new releases area and looking at what was popular I decided on Fifty Shades of Grey, as I heard all sorts of things about this one and curiosity got the best of me. I also ordered another book, The Weird Sisters, which was recommended by my cousin, and pre ordered the new Victoria Connelly book. By the time they all arrive it will be close to my holiday and that will make me even more excited for the trip and reading on the beach!

Shopping Tips for Amazon

Offers and Deals For You

Homepage and Category Offers

Amazon offers a huge range of deals and promotions throughout the year across their entire range of products, so it’s unlikely you’ll ever pay full price for anything! You’ll find some of these offers displayed on the homepage of the website, whilst others aren’t revealed until you look in a specific category of the site, so make sure you have a good look around before you place your orders!

Seasonal Offers

Seasonal offers also regularly appear on the website, with new promotions usually popping up around major holidays, such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas. So if there is a new season or holiday just around the corner and you’ve got your eye on something, it might be worth holding off on your purchase until the next season/holiday arrives to see if it goes down in price.

Free Delivery

Free Super Saver delivery is available on all UK book orders which add up to at least £10, but it’s not just books which are delivered for free. Whatever you’re buying, if you spend £20+ on selected items across any product category, your order will also qualify for free delivery. When you spend £10+ on books or £20+ on qualifying items, you can also choose to have your order delivered to an Amazon Pickup Location for free. This delivery method is perfect if you know you’re going to be out when the post man arrives and it’s easier to pick your order up from a Pickup Location instead of the Post Office.

Warehouse Deals

If you’re after a real bargain, check out Amazon’s ‘Warehouse Deals’. Here you’ll find products from across the online retailer’s range, each of which has been discounted by a significant amount because it’s second-hand, warehouse damaged, refurbished or the box has been opened. But don’t let these tiny negative points put you off shopping here – all these products are in fantastic condition but aren’t good enough to be glassed as ‘new’. Everything you see here is backed by Amazon’s satisfaction guarantee, so if you’re unhappy with anything, you can return it for a full refund.

Outlet

Another great place to snap up a top deal is the ‘Outlet’ section of the Amazon website. Here you’ll find massive discounts ranging from 20% up to 70% off all sorts of items from across the retailer’s range – just like the ‘Warehouse Deals’. An item usually ends up in the ‘Outlet’ part of the site after it’s been overstocked, so you don’t have to worry about receiving second-hand or damaged goods when shopping here – everything is in perfect condition.

Subscribe and Save

Amazon provides you with a simple and effective way of keeping on top of your daily essentials and your monthly budget at the same time with ‘Subscribe and Save’. You can set a delivery schedule for items that you buy regularly – such as makeup, groceries, pet food and baby supplies – and have them automatically delivered to your door according to how often you use them. If you have five or more subscriptions set to be delivered each month, you’ll save up to 15% on each purchase! Better still, you can cancel your subscription at any time without forking out for any additional fees and you’ll never have to pay for anything upfront – you’ll only pay for your orders when they’re dispatched.

Extra Money Saving Tips

Amazon Prime

If you’re forever ordering things from Amazon, consider signing up for Amazon Prime. As a member, you’ll get free one-day delivery on over seven million items, more than 500,000 Kindle titles which you can borrow for free and unlimited instant streaming of 15,000+ films. Amazon prime costs just £79 per year and when you sign up, you’ll get your first month for free! If you’re not totally sure Amazon Prime is right for you, you can sign up for the one-month free trial to start off with. Then if you’re not happy with the service, you can cancel your subscription within 30 days and not pay a single penny.
