Now that the Christmas craziness is over, now is the time to treat yourself to a little something that you really want (or at least stock up on gifts and decorations for next year!). And if you were lucky enough to get some gift cards and money, you can make your pound stretch even further with some fantastic post-Christmas bargains.
Take a look at what you have, what you want, and what needs to be replaced for next Christmas. If your artificial tree has seen better days, or your cat broke half of your baubles, or you just want a few new things to add to your decor, you can find it all on major sale right now instead of waiting until next year.
I always buy ahead for next Christmas, because you can find some MASSIVE discounts, usually half off or more if you wait until Boxing Day or later. I just went into a few local shops today and grabbed two boxes of lovely, glittery Christmas cards (both 50% off), some fancy tartan gift tags, and a sparkly gift bag and spent under £7 total, plus found a Mickey Christmas jumper for £4.80, originally £15.99!
Just make sure you have a dedicated place to put the things you buy for next year’s festive season so you don’t go and forget you’ve bought them – I pack any decorations, cards, and other Christmas things away when I take our tree down in January, and any gift items are placed inside a fabric bin I keep in our guest room’s wardrobe. I also have a plastic container where I keep all of our festive jumpers, leggings, pyjamas, hats, etc., and this gets packed away with the decorations.
Marks and Spencer have loads of deeply discounted lights, decorations, and gifts in their Christmas sale. These 100 multicoloured LED lights are half off at a mere £12.50, or if you need a new tree, this six-foot lit standard Christmas tree is just £44.50. Got kids and pets around? A box of 12 shatterproof baubles might be a good idea, and at £2.50 you can afford to buy a few sets to have on hand! Sizes are limited, but you can find some great deals on Christmas jumpers, like this Santa jumper for kids, now only £9.
For more deals on jumpers, check out Simply Be, where you can get this fun Mince Pies Before Guys or Snowman jumper, both just £10 each (more than half off). Or at Boohoo, channel your inner Spice Girl with this I’ll Tell You What I Want, What I Really Really Want jumper, also £10 on sale. Definitely getting this one for Christmas 2017!
Emma Bridgewater have an up to 40% off sale right now, so you can pack some gifts away for next year and buy a few cheeky things for yourself, too. Their Holly Wreath 1/2 pint mug is just £11.95, with a festive xmas design, or add some whimsy to your tree with this polka dot tiny cup decoration, now £7.50.They’re currently running a 6 for 5 offer as well, valid on selected mugs, plates, and bowls, plus all sale tea towels are now further reduced at £5, so you might want to update your current ones, or put a few away as little gifts to use throughout the year.
Lastly, Debenhams have a nice range of Christmas items on sale for half off, such as this At Home With Ashley Thomas Christmas print apron (£8), matching oven gloves (£7.50), tea towels (£7), and cake tins (£10).
