31 May

FESTIVE STYLEWith June’s arrival comes (hopefully) more time outdoors enjoying the garden and those few precious sunny days we can get! But let’s face it, the cost of things like garden furniture, BBQs, outdoor toys and everything else you need to kit out your outdoor space doesn’t come cheap. If your garden could use an update but you don’t have loads of cash, check out our ideas on how to save with plenty of outdoor bargains under £100!

Plants and Flowers

There’s nothing like some gorgeous flowers to make your place look bright and cheerful, but the cost of planting a full garden of flowers can be pricey. And, if you’ve got a small space or don’t actually have a garden, you’ll need to improvise. Potted plants work a treat when you’re on a budget, as you can put a few strategically-placed pots around and still look like you’ve made an effort without spend hundreds on flowers. Plus, they’re low-maintenance! I’m loving this pair of red patio standard roses in 3L pots from Garden Bargains (£19.99) – how lovely would these look surrounding your front door or gate? If you’re more of a hanging basket person, you’ll love the Complete Easy Fill Basket Bundle (£36.95) which makes it ridiculously simple to add some colour to your home and create a hanging garden that looks professionally done.

Garden Furniture

If you’re after new garden furniture, the aptly named Garden Furniture World are full of deals on tables, chairs, bistro sets, love seats, loungers, parasols, statues, storage, outdoor lighting, and pretty much anything else you can imagine for your garden. This Gablemare Wenlock bistro set features a beautiful Victorian-inspired design and includes a table and two metal chairs. This set would work perfectly for singletons or couples without kids – and at £74.99, it won’t bust your budget. If you need extra seating, this six-piece garden patio set is a great option at an amazing price: only £67.99 for a small glass-top table, four black folding chairs, and a black parasol. Just want something for the kids? They’ve got a range of kids furniture from £7.99, ranging from picnic tables to sets with tables and parasols, or simple folding outdoor chairs. If you order today (31 May), you can take advantage of the May bank holiday code to receive 10% off your order.

Outdoor Toys

Head to Toys R Us and you’ll find swings, slides, water toys, and everything else the kids could need for a fun summer outdoors! I’m a fan of Little Tikes products, as they always hold up really well and are a great value for the money. If you’ve got a little one 18 months to 4 years, you’ll want something tailored to their age. This Little Tikes First Green Slide is under £25 and won’t take up much room in the garden, either (you could even bring it inside on rainy days). Another fun option: the Little Tikes Fish ‘n’ Splash Water Table (£49.99). Fill it with water and let the kids go crazy splashing around and “catching fish.” Looking for a simple sandpit that won’t cost a tonne? The Little Tikes Turtle Sandpit is on sale for £15 off at just £24.99!

BBQs

Check out the range of BBQs at Homebase and you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you want to stay under £100, you’ll still have some great options, from a small, portable bucket charcoal BBQ (£7.96) to styles with more bells and whistles, like this 2-burner Montana gas BBQ for £97.97.
