money saving 5 C

It’s been another great week for bargains, especially for my mum! She’s found a lot of items still with the original tags on in charity shops.

The highlight though has to be a long jumper from Marks & Spencer. It was originally marked as £50 but she paid just £9.50.

She also bagged a pair of black ankle boots from Miss Selfridge for just £5 so for me, she gets the gold star this week for the best bargain finds.

My family and me visited Warwick Castle this week, which is beautiful. It’s an amazing place – the amount of history there is crazy as it’s over 1,000 years old.

We got free tickets from a promotion The Sun newspaper did a while ago. Had we not had the free tickets it would of set us back a good £75 just for basic entrance plus another £9 each to go down into the dungeons. As nice as the place is, I wouldn’t have paid that to go there.

We cut costs even more by taking a picnic with us. We did let my sons JJ and Jax buy something each from the gift shop but that only came to the grand total of £10 and the only other cost was the car park fee. As we parked in the closest one to the attraction that was another £10. We didn’t park there out of choice but it’s where the sat nav decided to take us. The other car park cost only £4 but it was a 20-minute walk to the castle, so we decided to go for the easy option.

In total, for £20 plus our own picnic we got a day out that would have normally cost us over £100. It also allowed us to visit somewhere we may not have thought about going – this meant we weren’t missing out.

The next day trip we have planned is to Hunstanton Sea Life Centre, as I have another batch of free tickets from another Sun promotion. My eldest son loves Sea Life Centres so it’s a great chance to take him and save money at the same time.

Keep a look out for promotions like these as they are brilliant for the family.
