The sofas looking a bit the worse for wear, that wallpaper you always hated is starting to really bug you and you’re still dreaming of the nice new furniture you always wanted.

Redecorating a room can make a big impact but it can also cost big bucks.

But there are always ways you can create a fantastic new space without the hefty price tag that comes with it.

Here’s a few tips on how to redecorate without breaking the bank:

1. Local selling pages
Check local selling pages for furniture. You’ll be amazed at what things people are getting rid of for pennies usually because they don’t have room to store it and just want it out the way.
2. Sales
Keep an eye on sales for paint and wallpaper, there’s always a sale somewhere that will have both.
3. Be open minded
Keep an open mind when shopping for wallpaper. Don’t go out shopping with a set theme in your mind. Instead go with an open mind and see what you can find in the sale or on offer.
4. Charity shops
Have a look in charity shops and you will often be able to find furniture, curtains, homeware and rugs if you’re lucky. If you’re not desperate for items, keep checking back. You never know what you’ll find.
5. Take your time
Most importantly don’t rush into making costly decisions that you may late regret. That living room has looked the same for the last 10 years so a few more months while you gather everything is not going to matter at all.

Overall it may take you longer decorating on a budget, but the end result will be so much better and that sense of pride you get knowing you created a beautiful space on a shoestring budget will make it all worthwhile.
